As an artist who shares her journey on social media, I’m often asked by curious followers how to begin an art journey. Unfortunately, there is no magic list I can offer. I do remember, though, what it was like to be a complete beginner. So I’ve put together some good tips for starting an art journey.
·Start small. I suggest using a sketchbook (素描本) for small studies. These small studies provide inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future. ____36____ You’ll want to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come.
·Paint often and paint from life. There’s no better way to improve than to put in those brush miles. Whether you paint still lifes, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible. ____37____
·Continually challenge yourself to try something new. ____38____ Artistic growth can be a bit painful. Welcome to the club;we’ve all been there. I love taking on challenges. I once took up a challenge to create a painting every day for a month and post the works online.
·____39____ Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth. I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability.
The journey you’re on won’t follow a straight path. ____40____ Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life.

它要么指代前句中某个信息(this、that、these people、this book),要么表明上下句的逻辑关系(so、but、however、even、moreover)。
These small studies provide inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future.
后句You’ll want to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come.
Continually challenge yourself to try something new.
后句Artistic growth can be a bit painful. Welcome to the club;we’ve all been there. I love taking on challenges. I once took up a challenge to create a painting every day for a month and post the works online.
关键信息词Continually challenge yourself(不断挑战自己去试新东西)Artistic growth can be a bit painful(艺术成长有点痛)Get out of your comfort zone(走出舒适区)前句是「不断挑战自己去试新东西」,后句说艺术成长会有点痛——两句在谈同一件事:走出舒适区不好受。
因此,选 A。
选定A · Get out of your comfort zone.
The journey you’re on won’t follow a straight path.
后句Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life.
剩下的 3 项里,只有 E 说的是这个:hit roadblocks 正是把 won’t follow a straight path 说具体,feel discouraged at times 又被后句的 Push through 接住;D 是讲分享作品的祈使句,属于下一节小标题,G 是第 3 节段末那句。因此,选 E。
选定E · You’ll hit roadblocks, and you’ll feel discouraged at times.
后句Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth. I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability.
I post my work on social media 和 Seeking and accepting constructive feedback,祈使句也和另外三条小标题一致;G 是「重复练出肌肉记忆」的总结句,放在小标题位置统领不了下面这段。因此,选 D。
选定D · Share your work if you feel comfortable doing so.
前句Whether you paint still lifes, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible.
关键信息词paint from life as much as possible(尽可能多写生)Paint often(多画)muscle memory … repetition(重复才能练出肌肉记忆)前句把「尽可能多写生」说到了顶,本节到此为止——要一句说清这么做会带来什么。
剩下的选项只剩 G:它说的是结果,only comes with repetition 又回扣了小标题的 Paint often 和前句的 as much as possible。因此,选 G。
选定G · You’ll develop that painting muscle memory that only comes with repetition.
